Position Focus: The Fulfillment Technical Lead oversees, monitors, and administers both the functional and technical components of library‐based fulfillment services. Responsibility would include technical support and oversight for key service areas in the Yale University Library including electronic reserves (Ares), interlibrary loan (ILLiad), special collections circulation (Aeon), consortial programs and associated systems (BorrowDirect), and the Library Shelving Facility. The Fulfillment Systems Technical Lead is expected to maintain a broad and detailed mastery of these services as well as the internal operations of the units served. The position will require a successful candidate to wear many technical hats and create sustainable relationships to provide consultative support to service user communities. The successful candidate will be technically adept, hands‐on, a self‐starter, passionate about technology, communicative, and collaborative. The Fulfillment Technical Lead is a member of the Yale University Library IT department, reporting to the Director of Enterprise Systems and Services.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
· Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field and four to nine years of related technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Excellent customer service skills, flexibility and a strong commitment to innovation, creativity, and excellence. Ability to maintain a focus on customer satisfaction, needs, and confidence in services provided.
· Demonstrated IT project management and business systems analysis skills. Experience working to assess client needs, synthesize a shared vision, and work collaboratively to help clients achieve goals.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and facilitation skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Expertise in designing, programming, modifying, testing, and deploying applications.
Preferred Education, Skills and Experience: Preferred hands‐on experience administering and programming in Windows solution stack (e.g. Windows server, IIS, .NET, SQL Server); front‐end web application technologies; source control (e.g. Git); build systems (e.g. Jenkins). Knowledge of library applications and lending services (e.g. Atlas ILLiad, Aeon, Ares, BorrowDirect, GFA LAS, OCLC subscription services) and associated web services.
