Sourcery Community Ambassadors
Sourcery (sourceryapp.org), a not-for-profit archival document delivery app, creates one place for researchers to request scans of archival materials and local archive users (called “Sourcerers”) to fill them. We are seeking experienced archive users who are comfortable with digital research tools to complete document scanning jobs in the Albany, NY and Worcester, MA areas.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Attend a 30 minute orientation meeting via Zoom
- Complete an onboarding worksheet
- Create and maintain a Sourcery App account
- Introduce Sourcery to your research/social circles
- Commitment to fulfill at least one (1) job posted in the Sourcery app for your chosen city between July 2026 - June 2027, and provide feedback via a worksheet.
Qualified applicants will demonstrate the following:
- Located in or nearby Albany, NY or Worcester, MA
- Enrolled or graduated from MLIS/MS/MA/PhD program
- Access to an iPhone or Android device running a recent version of the iOS or Android operating system
- Experience handling materials in closed archives
Compensation is a $50 honorarium from the University of Connecticut plus full payout for each completed job.
