The Georgetown Law Library is looking for qualified candidates to apply for the Head of Digital Initiatives.

This position is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and advancement of the Law Library’s digital collections. Reporting to the Associate Director for Resource Management and Technology at the Georgetown University Law Library, the Head of Digital Initiatives leads a cohesive digitization program and works to implement an effective and achievable strategy to ensure long-term protection and access to Georgetown University Law Library’s digital assets.

The Digital Initiatives department is responsible for production digitization of Law Library materials and making them available through a number of digital repositories. The department includes two full-time staff and a team of 4-6 student assistants. Responsible for the operations of the department, this position delegates tasks, provides general oversight and direction for the daily work of the department, and monitors the physical space to ensure safety and an appropriate work environment. The incumbent sets the goals and priorities for the department, develops and maintains the policies and procedures to meet those goals, and provides opportunities for training and development of the staff in the department. This position represents the department’s work and interests in communications with peers, collaborators, and vendors both internal and external to Georgetown, and participates in strategic planning and decision-making with respect to major purchases and new initiatives.
