Library Infrastructure Architect
Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to support and develop the technical infrastructure of Libraries, Museums & Galleries, focusing primarily on the University’s heritage collections but also contributing to wider systems strategies for service development. You will lead on the technical elements of our Digital Shift strategy, supporting Special Collections & Archives and Museums & Galleries in establishing a new suite of systems, as we expand our portfolio of services in support of research and education. You will also have the opportunity to shape these services, providing technical input at the funding stage and driving the specification, procurement and implementation of new systems.
This is an exciting time to be joining Libraries, Museums & Galleries as we embark on a programme of investment in infrastructure to support and enable the strategic ambitions of Liverpool 2031. As a provider of comprehensive learning and research collections and services, our aim is to maximise the richness of our heritage collections with digital platforms and services that enable our users to advance and share their knowledge and deliver ground-breaking research.
In addition to having the confidence and enthusiasm to work effectively with academic, library, museums and IT Services colleagues to contribute to the University’s strategic priorities in research, teaching and public engagement, the successful candidate will have a relevant professional qualification or proven experience of systems administration in a busy service environment with a commitment to continual professional development.
You will demonstrate a practical problem-solving ability, a flexible and proactive approach to work and excellent communication skills. Some additional duties may be required occasionally.
