Academic Technology Specialist
Description
Stanford History Department and Stanford Libraries are seeking to a hire an Academic Technology Specialist (ATS). This is a 3-year fixed term staff position with the possibility of renewal.
The ATS will develop, deploy, and promote innovative technological solutions to support research and curriculum in the History Department. The ideal candidate is a historian with solid technical expertise in digital methodologies and demonstrated leadership experience in innovative digital history projects. They will have demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues with a diversity of work and communication styles, and demonstrated experience in building relationships with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. The ATS will collaborate closely with the department faculty and students in exploring digital methods, building new tools, and making technology meaningful for research, teaching, and learning in History. They will offer one course in the Department every academic year; guide faculty and students in pursuing or incorporating novel digital approaches, tools, methods in their research and teaching; assist department affiliates in developing innovative digital presentations; and guide website and social media presence for such projects.
