Job Description
The Website Designer, under general supervision, is responsible for the design and maintenance of websites in the Cooperative Agricultural Research Center. This is a temporary position not to exceed 4.5 months.
Responsibilities:
- Develop responsive web designs that are mobile friendly.
- Protect sites by designing and installing security precautions.
- Assist in website planning with wire frames, site maps, and graphics.
- Maintain developed code in the revision code repository.
- Develop site content and graphics by designing images, icons, banners, enhancements, etc.
- Upgrade sites by updating content and graphics.
- Monitor performance and results.
- Identify and evaluate improvement options.
- Introduce new technology.
- Maintain links. Maintain sites appearance by developing and enforcing content.
- Create pages, templates, and new designs in Word Press.
- Bug fix, QA problem solving and run Google Analytics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.
- No prior experience required.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in WordPress administration and building web pages on WordPress.
Experience with App development, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Experience in website design and maintenance.
Background in computer science, web design, graphic design, marketing, communications, or related field.
Understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery.
Understanding of CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
