Job Description

The Website Designer, under general supervision, is responsible for the design and maintenance of websites in the Cooperative Agricultural Research Center. This is a temporary position not to exceed 4.5 months.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop responsive web designs that are mobile friendly.
  • Protect sites by designing and installing security precautions.
  • Assist in website planning with wire frames, site maps, and graphics.
  • Maintain developed code in the revision code repository.
  • Develop site content and graphics by designing images, icons, banners, enhancements, etc.
  • Upgrade sites by updating content and graphics.
  • Monitor performance and results.
  • Identify and evaluate improvement options.
  • Introduce new technology.
  • Maintain links. Maintain sites appearance by developing and enforcing content.
  • Create pages, templates, and new designs in Word Press.
  • Bug fix, QA problem solving and run Google Analytics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • No prior experience required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in WordPress administration and building web pages on WordPress.

  • Experience with App development, and Adobe Creative Cloud.

  • Experience in website design and maintenance.

  • Background in computer science, web design, graphic design, marketing, communications, or related field.

  • Understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery.

  • Understanding of CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
