Lead Librarian for Discovery Systems
Description
The NCSU Libraries invites applications and nominations for the position of Lead Librarian for Discovery Systems. The Lead Librarian for Discovery Systems leads the Discovery Systems team (four application developers and one support specialist) in the development and support of the core systems that provide access to the NCSU Libraries’ print and electronic resources. These include SirsiDynix Symphony, ILLiad, Blacklight, EZproxy, and the CORAL ERM, as well as a variety of open source and locally developed applications that promote resource discovery and delivery and improve staff workflows. The Lead Librarian for Discovery Systems collaborates with stakeholders to identify areas of need and define requirements, prioritizes software development resources effectively to meet these needs, and works with the Discovery Systems team to ensure the stability of core systems. The incumbent is expected to maintain awareness of developing tools for discovery and delivery and to contribute to the development of long-term strategic directions for the Libraries.
