Description
The University Library Johann Christian Senckenberg of the Goethe-University Frankfurt am Main is one of the largest university libraries in Germany. The HeBIS library union is part of the University Library and provides services for many scientific libraries in Hesse and parts of Rhineland-Palatinate. One of their services is a library resource portal called HDS based on the open source software VuFind.
The University Library offers the position of a
Computer Scientist / Web Application Developer (up to E 13 TV-G-U)
in the HeBIS library union at the next possible date limited for a period of 36 months.
Your individual salary will be based on your personal qualifications and the job characteristics of the collective labour agreement TV-G-U.
Your tasks:
- Optimization of the user interface of HDS for mobile devices and desktop.
- Implementation of access to electronic resources integrated into HDS
- Implementation of interfaces
Requirements:
- university degree (Diplom/Master/Bachelor) in Computer Science or a related topic
- excellent knowledge in programming web applications
- excellent knowledge in PHP 7, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- of benefit is the knowledge the PHP frameworks Zend and Symfony
- basics in databases and Java or C++
- knowledge of German would be an advantage but is not crucial
- commitment, ability to work in a team
