Acquisitions and Electronic Resources Librarian

The Lewis University Library invites applications for an Acquisitions and Electronic Resources Librarian to manage the library's electronic/digital content and budgetary process through understanding of both acquisitions in multiple formats and all aspects of electronic resource management (i.e. subscription, licensing, maintenance and support, production and dissemination of statistics).

Some of the primary responsibilities of this position include managing the library materials budget, monitoring expenditures and compiling reports to ensure the ordering and receipt of university library materials; planning, coordinating, monitoring and analyzing acquisitions of library materials; maintaining online periodical/journal subscriptions; coordinating licensing of electronic resources acquired by the institution, and ensuring timely renewals or cancellations; tracking title changes and the transfer of online subscriptions from one publisher/platform to another or in and out of online packages; and recording receipt of all library materials on a timely basis, including using the appropriate system, and in accordance with standard professional protocols.

The successful candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:
  • MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution plus 1 to 3 years of academic library experience
  • Experience working with library budgets and electronic resources
  • Familiarity with one or more integrated library systems
  • Software application knowledge and experience, a demonstrated high level of proficiency in the MS Office suite, assessment tools, etc.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility to adapt to new technologies and changes
