Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for the position of Government Documents/Reference Librarian.
The Government Documents/Reference Librarian at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will be responsible for: (1) Managing and overseeing the development of the government documents collection. (2) Providing reference desk services. (3) Participating in library instruction. (4) Participating in collection development in assigned subject areas. (5) Serving on Library/University committees. (6) Pursuing professional development/scholarly activities. (6) Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required: (1) Masters of Library Science or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program. (2) Two (2) years related experience in an academic library in a public services capacity, including reference and library instruction. (3) Excellent written and oral communication skills. (4) Demonstrated strong commitment to library-customer focused services. (5) Ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a rapidly changing, demanding, and culturally diverse environment.
Preferred Qualifications: (1) At least 1-2 years of experience working in a Federal Depository Library environment. (2) Experience with web page and database design/development. (3) Knowledge of reference resources in print and electronic formats. (4) Experience with non-traditional and/or first-generation college students.

About the Library
The Mary and Jeff Bell Library provides resources and services to assist users with their research and information needs. Over ½ million items are listed in Portal, the online catalog, and many more items are accessible through our electronic resources. Over 200 online databases and 60,000 electronic journals contain scholarly material to assist students in completing research projects or assignments. The Library provides both in-person and electronic reference service, instruction to classes on how to use the Library's resources, interlibrary loan to obtain items the Library does not own, a media lab for accessing audio-visual material, and over 100 computers for use in research or the completion of course assignments. Laptop computers are also available for use within the Library. Special Collections and Archives houses a wealth of resources focusing on Corpus Christi, the Coastal Bend, and South Texas. The atrium of the Library contains popular magazines and a selection of daily newspapers.
