Shared Systems Librarian

Created: May 9, 2014

Description

Please see the following job posting from the PASCAL (Partnership Among South Carolina Academic Libraries) consortium.

We are looking for a knowledgeable and energetic systems librarian to manage a shared ILS program that supports twelve libraries deployed on two III millennium systems and an EBSCO EDS discovery platform utilized by seven of these libraries.

While the core responsibilities for the shared systems librarian will center around these systems,  the successful candidate will also be an active member of a team that manages a statewide INN-Reach system serving 53 libraries and a robust electronic-resource licensing program.  Our current focus is on completing implementation of a major e-book initiative that will provide statewide access to large collections of e-books from various sources (aggregator collections, DDA and purchased books).    We are also engaging with our membership in a thorough review of our strategic agenda, which includes a discussion of our mix of programs and supporting tools.

This is a position in a dynamic environment with rich opportunities for professional growth and making an impact.  Please follow the link below to read the full announcement and for information on how to apply.*

*PLEASE NOTE:  One frequently asked question about our positions involves the state's "job-type" description for PASCAL jobs as a "Temporary Grant" position.  This is required for positions that are not funded using state-appropriated funds.   PASCAL positions are funded by the membership and the consortium considers this a permanent staff position.
