Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree from an ALA accredited program or foreign equivalent with two (2) years of supervisory experience and two (2) years of related library experience (e.g., acquisitions, serials, or cataloging).
  • Experience in cataloging operations for all formats, LC classification, and subject headings.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of technical services.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ExLibris' Aleph.
  • Experience with shared bibliographic cataloging workflows.
  • Experience with batch-loading vendor records of various types, including MARC and order records.
  • Experience with patron driven acquisitions workflows.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of metadata standards, schema, and tools, including Dublin Core METS/MODS, MARC, and others.
  • Proficiency with excel and other data management tools.
  • Experience with library fund/budget management.

General Summary Statement

Your initial duties will include participating in developing, interpreting, and implementing policies and programs related to the growth and acquisition of library collections and access to information in all formats; participating in State and national professional associations and activities; serving as a member of the administrative group; and providing leadership in the library and services to the university community.

All library faculty are expected to be excellent librarians, responsive to changing professional needs; committed to innovative delivery of library services resulting in improved student learning; committed to effective use of technology including distance learning; involved in scholarly activities as appropriate to appointment; and provide service to the library, university and community.
