OFFICE OF UNIVERSITY WRITING IT SPECIALIST:Auburn University seeks an Information Technology Specialist to serve in the Office of University Writing with significant responsibilities to the new ePortfolio Project, which is the university's Quality Enhancement Project, required for SACSCOC accreditation. This is a continuing 12month position with benefits, and a salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under very limited supervision, plans, conducts and/or supervises assignments of a very complex nature. Reviews progress and evaluates
results. Plans and assigns personnel for given projects or tasks. Recommends changes in procedures. Operates with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision. Reviews progress with management. Duties include systems analysis, programming, testing, debugging, operating systems or equivalent combination. Possesses and applies comprehensive IT knowledge to the completion of complex assignments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Entry into the applicant pool requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus six (6) years of experience in computer maintenance, troubleshooting, graphic and web site design, and programming. Employer will consider advanced degrees in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field in lieu of experience.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Desired qualifications include: a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; related work experience handling a range of computer technologies including backend website design and development as well as experience with assessment; advanced knowledge of web development in the Linux and/or Microsoft environments; advanced knowledge and experience with Windows program suite; able to generate skeletons for websites, including text and graphics; able to continue web application development projects already under way; additional experience and interest in generation and interpretation of reports from raw data including site usage statistics, client registration data, and similar data sets; experience with the design and implementation of web sites
from concept to deployment, including graphic design or general aesthetics; understanding of RDBMS and SQL programming; ability to manage interfaces of closed source, COTS, and RESTful applications; experience manipulating various web development frameworks or platforms; awareness of techniques for deploying web resources to
multiple platforms (crossbrowser, Windows/Mac/Linux OS, smartphones, etc.); able to represent Auburn's ePortfolio Project in regional and national conversations connected to technology and student learning.
