Description
Bard College is seeking a Library Technology Specialist / Webmaster to be the point person for development and maintenance of the library web site, mobile application development, and library application support and integration. Reporting to the Director of College Libraries, the Library Technology Specialist will work closely with both library and IT staff to create solutions that make library resources easy to find and easy to use, and that are responsive to the needs of students, faculty and staff.Responsibilities will include performing daily support and maintenance of the library web site; supporting proprietary and open sources library applications; creating new mobile web environment; contributes PHP programming and HTML hand coding to ongoing digital project; integrating social and other media into the library web site; and supports web site analytics and marketing.
The ideal candidate will be an expert or have 3-5 years experience minimum in coding HTML, CSS, Javascript as well as developing and implementing PHP and MYSQL databases; Mobil App development and programming skills/experience; working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, Dreamweaver and other Adobe web development software; and experience with Java and web application development.
In addition, the ideal candidate will have familiarity using integrated online library systems, especially Innovative Interfaces; experience working with and adapting open sources software; and experience working in higher education.
