Systems Librarian (ILS Administrator)

DUTIES:
  • Serves as the lead administrator for major library application platforms, such as the   Library's Integrated Library System, mobile app, and other major application platforms.
  • Works closely with the Public Services and Collections to ensure planning, implementation, and coordination of Library services and applications.
  • Develops and maintain the interfaces between application platforms, applications, and other systems; integration of locally-developed and third-party applications.
  • Coordinates, the effective delivery of library services and applications by overseeing the design, installation, maintenance, documentation, security, upgrading, and troubleshooting of library application platforms, servers, and databases.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA accredited library school is required. At least two (2) years of systems experience in a library setting.  Advanced and current knowledge of design, configuration, administration, management, security, operation, and documentation of Integrated Library Systems. Knowledge of cataloging principles, including MARC and RDA, is desired. Mastery of standard web browser display and application technologies (HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, CGI, XSLT), including usability, accessibility and cross-browser compatibility issues.  Demonstrated understanding of client/server environment, and experience with software applications needed to administer application environments. This may include Microsoft Windows Server, UNIX/Linux, Oracle/Sybase, SQL Server, XML, etc.
