Learning & Information Services (LIS) is a key department within the University of Wolverhampton and has seen significant recent investment in its building, technology and facilities. At the heart of the University experience, LIS has a well-founded reputation for delivering a successful service which is highly regarded by academic staff and students alike.

We are now seeking an enthusiastic professional to help develop high quality digital library services, through the design and implementation of effective business processes and IT systems. You will work with LIS staff to understand service requirements and identify appropriate solutions. This role will also ensure multiple digital library systems are well integrated, which will include writing software to support effective data exchange.

This is a newly created post, and we are looking for an adaptable professional with an enthusiasm for service improvement. You will have a good understanding of current library developments and the ability to translate library requirements into technical designs and specifications. You will also be a good communicator, able to work effectively with staff with differing levels of technical knowledge. Knowledge of one or more programming languages is essential, and the desirable candidate will also have demonstrated an ability to ensure new products and services are adopted by organisations to realise their full benefits.

For an informal discussion about this post and its possibilities please contact Frances Machell, Content and Digital Library Development Manager, on 01902 321965.
