Description

Leonie, an international, woman-owned, leading provider of execution management specialists, performance measurement experts and analysts to US Government organizations is seeking a qualified Digital Media Archivist.

Job Description:
  • Digital Media Archivist will be working with both edited and unedited, and often unpublished, media
  • Creating a digital media archive for the organization, both internal and web accessible
  • Editing digitized media
  • Utilizing an inventory tool to document media
  • Assisting in the transcribing of footage
  • Researching and managing the archive
  • Metadata tagging for photographic, video, audio and document media
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years experience working with the curation of digital content
  • Must be highly organized and analytical in their thinking, as the primary responsibility of this role is to meticulously maintain information using detailed record-keeping systems. Computer and technical proficiency a must
  • Experience or skills in video production or digital media
  • Passion for preserving historical media and visual mediums
  • Background in moving image archives or media production
  • Excellent organization, communication and team work skills
  • Experience working with audio/video formats and files, digitization of linear media, website development, and editing digital media. Evidence of written and oral communication and web management skills. Previous archival experience or education
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data storage methods, media and security
  • Experience with digital repository platform(s) and with XML and digital content creation/transformation tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge of descriptive metadata standards including MARC, DACS, Dublin Core and of data structure standards relevant to archival control of digital collection material (ex. EAD, Dublin Core, MODS, METS, PREMIS, or VRA Core)
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, including commitment to working effectively within a diverse student and staff population
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of team, as well as independently
  • Proven ability to manage projects and competing priorities with demonstrated ability to be flexible, to adapt to change, and to work successfully in a fast‐paced, dynamic environment
Preferred Skills (not required):
  • Familiarity with Dari/Pashto languages a plus
  • Military experience
  • Deployed experience
Computer Skills:
  • Must work proficiently on Apple Macintosh and PC platforms.
  • Knowledge of e-mail applications (Entourage/MS Office) and FTP applications.
  • Experience with Web Development or Flash preferred
Education: Minimum Associates Degree; Library Science education a plus
