Description

We are seeking five (5) active humanities scholars who are comfortable using digital research tools and who need archival documents retrieved from repositories in the Washington, DC metropolitan area

 

You will be invited to submit two (2) requests for materials to be scanned from Washington, DC-area archives  (they do not have to be from the same archive).

 

In order to create the requests, you will need to have specific information about the archival location of the materials, as well as the finding aid or correspondence that provided the archival location.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Beta test the Sourcery app by submitting 2 scan requests for archival items located in Washington, DC-area repositories
  • Provide constructive feedback on the request process and the materials received
  • Introduce Sourcery to your research/social circles

 

Qualified applications will demonstrate the following:

  • Must be a postdoctoral or ABD scholar of history, literature, or related field who needs primary source documents retried from repositories in the Washington, DC metro area.
  • Access to an iPhone or Android device running a recent version of the iOS or Android operating system
  • Experience researching in closed archives
  • Experience using digital research tools

 

Compensation is a $250 honorarium for approximately 4 hours of work to begin October 14 and be completed by December 12, 2025. The honorarium will come from the University of Connecticut.

 

Interviews will be scheduled on a rolling basis until the positions are filled. Applications close September 28.
