The Digital Experience Division of The New York Public Library has several career opportunities.

The APPLICATION DEVELOPER will develop applications and provide maintenance and support for the ongoing deployment of digital library collection user interfaces and database applications. To qualify, you must have a BA; programming experience building scalable web applications using SQL, ODBC, server- and client-side scripting, html, and xml transformation; and knowledge of relational database design, implementation and administration and of emerging metadata standards. The USER EXPERIENCE DESIGNER will work with relevant stakeholders to implement user experience aspirations in compelling interfaces by applying design methodologies; translate usability and field research findings into user interaction improvement and develops and implement wireframes and functional prototypes, as well as production-quality interface code (i.e. HTML/CSS/Javascript).
