The APPLICATION DEVELOPER will develop applications and provide maintenance and support for the ongoing deployment of digital library collection user interfaces and database applications. To qualify, you must have a BA; programming experience building scalable web applications using SQL, ODBC, server- and client-side scripting, html, and xml transformation; and knowledge of relational database design, implementation and administration and of emerging metadata standards. The USER EXPERIENCE DESIGNER will work with relevant stakeholders to implement user experience aspirations in compelling interfaces by applying design methodologies; translate usability and field research findings into user interaction improvement and develops and implement wireframes and functional prototypes, as well as production-quality interface code (i.e. HTML/CSS/Javascript). To qualify, you must have a BA; excellent information and visual design skills; mastery of hand- coded semantic XHTML and CSS; and knowledge of cross-browser design issues. The DIGITAL USER ANALYST will work closely with the NYPL Labs group to build and share an in depth understanding of the characteristics and needs of existing and potential users of NYPL's Digital Presence.
