Description

Duke University Libraries is pleased to announce an open Digital Humanities Consultant position in The ScholarWorks Center for Open Scholarship. This full-time position works with and advises faculty, students, and staff on scholarly digital projects; tests applications and tools as part of project work and service development; and creates and delivers instruction in digital humanities methods, tools, and trends, which includes supervision and mentoring of students. Work also involves consulting and collaborating with Libraries, IT, and academic support staff on developing technical solutions and best-practices guidance for research, teaching, and publishing projects within digital humanities.

As a member of the ScholarWorks team, this individual works with colleagues across the Libraries and Duke’s campus to help make scholarly work more open, equitable, humane, beneficial, and sustainable, and to help Duke researchers benefit from and ethically use technical advances in scholarship. Support for this position is made possible through the efforts of the nascent Compute and Data Services Alliance for Research (CDSA), a faculty-driven service and support initiative for Duke researchers, coordinated between the Office of Information Technology, the Duke University Libraries, and the Office for Research & Innovation.
