Job Description:
Texas State University Libraries is seeking a Library Video Specialist. The Library Video Specialist supports video and audio production in the new Alkek Laboratory for Immersive Arts and Sciences (ALIAS). This role is responsible for producing high-quality videos on a regular schedule; maintaining the ALIAS production studios; creating an asset management strategy for unique productions; engaging with the campus community through workshops, consultations, and other programming efforts; assisting University Libraries with marketing content; and contributing to our micro-credentialing program.
Job Duties:
- Produce Video Projects while adhering to production guidelines, budgets, and schedules.
- Guide patrons and teams through the entire production process.
- Ensure video deliverables meet expectations.
- Lead client-facing meetings or editing sessions.
- Create Promotional Content promoting University Libraries and services.
- Develop a collections strategy enhancing access and discoverability.
- Assist in selecting, training, scheduling, assigning jobs to student employees.
- Conduct video and/or audio editing workshops aligning with micro-credentialing program content.
- Provide media consultations to students, faculty, and staff.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in video production processes from pre- to post-production.
- Ability to adhere to budgets and schedules.
- Strong customer service skills for client interactions.
- Knowledge of virtual production filming techniques and/or best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in training or supervising others.
- BA in Digital Media Production or a similar field with a specialty in audio, video, or graphics.
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and/or Adobe Audition.
- Experience with music production software and recording, especially using Ableton Live.
- Experience with Unreal Engine for virtual production.
- Experience teaching workshops.
- Experience creating marketing materials.
- Knowledge of the university system.
- Understanding of organizational mission of academic libraries.
