The Library is responding to recent and exciting changes in scholarship that include the increasing use of digital data and computational methods; expanding and novel cross-disciplinary data reuse; new emphases on transparency and reproducibility; concern for preservation and long-term usability; and the rise of new forms of scholarly communication including data publication and open access publishing.

The Digital Humanities Research Facilitator will join the Research Data Services department and a team of facilitators for the social sciences and the Earth and environmental sciences, as well as members of the Data, Research, Exploration, Access, Methods (DREAM) Lab, to define the Library's place in the research data ecosystem and its role in supporting data science and open, reproducible science.  The Library's 3-year strategic plan (https://www.library.ucsb.edu/StrategicPlan), particularly in the area of advancing open science, will give a sense of where the Library is headed.

Contact Greg Janée (gjanee@ucsb.edu) if you have questions about the position.

The current base pay range is $59,800 to $183,600.  Other components of pay are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.
