Simbonis Librarian for Public Health
Description
The Cushing/Whitney Medical Library seeks a collaborative and innovative librarian or MPH graduate to serve the Yale School of Public Health (YSPH) and the broader medical campus through reference, instruction and outreach activities that support the research, teaching, clinical and service missions of Yale University. The Simbonis Librarian for Public Health will also be trained to support staff and patrons with questions about open access, alternative publishing models, authors’ rights, and other issues related to scholarly information. This is a two-year, endowment-funded term appointment from the date of hire with an anticipated start date in July 2021. This fellowship allows the selected candidate the unique opportunity to work with several program areas and collaborate on projects. The Cushing/Whitney Medical Library just won MLA’s 2021 Research Advancement in Health Sciences Librarianship Award and is a dynamic, creative, and supportive workplace. The library offers mentoring, training, professional development, and participation on library committees. You must have your degree completed by the time you begin work. While a remote start might be possible, the selected candidate will work primarily on campus.
