Emerging Technologies Specialist
Works closely with library divisions and UDit on the implementation of new or improvement of existing library services requiring the use of technology through writing scripts, adapting open source software to library use, or developing in-house solutions using a variety of programming languages.

Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience working collaboratively in an IT environment to enhance end user services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Superior organization, prioritization, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills
Experience consulting with both end-users and technology service providers in support of creation and delivery of new or existing services
Excellent written communication skills
Working knowledge of a scripting language.
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Previous library experience
Previous experience with one or more of the following: HTML, MySQL or Postgres
Strong end user focus
Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills
