Reporting to the Co-Director of the Digital Initiatives and Scholarship Program, the Hesburgh Libraries at the University of Notre Dame is seeking an experienced quality assurance professional to direct the testing and monitoring of our library applications. We develop and host a wide range of software services from web applications (library website), messaging services, databases, search indexes, and our digital repository (CurateND, http://curate.nd.edu). These provide, discovery, access, and preservation of content including digital collections, research data, exhibits, and digitized videos for classroom usage. Ensuring both access and data integrity of our hosted collections is critical to our mission.Because many of our services are multi-tiered environments with web interfaces, RESTful web services, and asynchronous back end processes, we seek someone to take an automate first approach of web user interface testing, validating automated workflows, back end services, APIs, databases, and search indexes.
Customers include internal library employees managing archival collections and research data as well as faculty, staff, and students on campus. This position requires working well individually, with medium-sized development teams, and with a variety of groups within the libraries, the University Archives, students, faculty, and community organizations such as the Center for Open Science and the Hydra Project.
