Description
The Foley Center Library at Gonzaga University invites applicants for a part-time, seven month non tenure-track appointment as a Lecturer-AT in the Jesuit Oregon Province Archives (JOPA) and University Archives and Special Collection department, beginning June 1, 2016. We seek well qualified applicants with relevant educational and professional experience in these areas. The successful candidate will act as the liaison between Gonzaga and the Oregon Province of the Society of Jesus for all matters concerning JOPA, managing all functions and operational policies of JOPA, which include acquiring, processing and preserving archival materials, developing finding guides and other holdings discovery tools. Also provides reference service, instruction and outreach in support of department, library and university goals.Essential Functions
Minimum Qualifications
• ALA-accredited MLS degree or graduate degree in history, with supplemental training or experience in archives administration
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and sensitively with external stakeholders, university faculty, staff, students, and general library users
Desired Qualifications
• One year work experience working in the area of special collections or archives
• Demonstrated knowledge of, or experience with, archival processing, DACS compliant description, and reference service
• Demonstrated knowledge of, or experience with, planning and delivering library instruction on use of primary sources
• Demonstrated knowledge of, or experience with, digital collections and social media platforms
• Familiarity with ContentDM, Dublin Core and MARC standards
