LSU is growing a diverse team of librarians, metadata experts and programmers tasked with an ambitious agenda beginning with the deployment of an online digital repository (Islandora). We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated programmer who can start up quickly in a collaborative team environment.The successful candidate is responsible for programming at all stages of the application lifecycle including bug fixes and feature requests, unit and behavioral testing, documentation, integration with other systems, and collaboration with the open source community. S/he assists in the management of the application infrastructure, identification and resolution of performance bottlenecks, and serves occasionally as backup administrator. S/he shares knowledge of current developments in related open source projects and software engineering best practices. S/he offers assistance or consultation to other project teams as needed.
