 Albion College, a leading liberal arts college located in south central Michigan is seeking a user-oriented, highly skilled professional as its Web Services & Emerging Technologies Librarian. This librarian has overall responsibility for leading a team effort to provide high quality information discovery systems that support teaching and learning across campus.

The Web Services & Emerging Technologies Librarian will provide leadership and share responsibility for planning, implementing, and maintaining the Library website, and other digital systems and services through which Library patrons locate information. The Librarian will work closely with members of the Library and College staff to plan and support digital records management initiatives and repository systems.

This librarian has overall responsibility for the installation, maintenance, and enhancement of the library's integrated library system (currently Innovative Interfaces Sierra), which functions as a shared system with the Albion District Library.

Qualifications Include:

    -Masters degree in library or information science from an ALA accredited graduate program
    -Significant knowledge of integrated library systems, with special reference to Innovative    Interfaces Sierra system
    -Proficiency in web authoring, information presentation and organization
    -Experience with web technologies to deliver information resources and external content, such as CSS, HTML, PGSQL, WordPress, Islandora, LibGuides, LAMP Stack, Omeka and/or Joomla
    -Knowledge of technologies for digital libraries, such as OpenURL, Dublin Core, MARC, APIs and/or linked data
    -Significant knowledge of library operations, services and emerging technologies and practices
    -Demonstrated problem-solving and creativity in using technology to advance information discovery, teaching, learning, and organizational effectiveness
    -Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high degree of computer literacy
    -Demonstrated ability to manage projects and to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
