Description
We are currently developing a custom knowledge management system to foster our culture of sharing ideas and techniques through integrated search, discovery, and use of digital assets. The Digital Resources Librarian is an experienced and forward-thinking information professional who will play a pivotal role within the design, implementation, and stewardship of this newly defined knowledge management system.Responsibilities
- Participate in defining and executing the knowledge management system
- Establish and ensure best practices for data management
- Work closely with firm leaders to develop taxonomy and metadata schemes
- Coordinate all activities related to capture, sharing and discovery of assets and knowledge
- Participate in content buildup and maintenance, develop and/or facilitate content for the library including providing guidance on effective and high quality metadata use
- Build and maintain metrics to monitor the performance of the knowledge management system
- Encourage and promote knowledge management across the firm
- Provide user support across the firm
- Actively manage the repository to ensure information is accurate, up-to-date, relevant, and valuable
- Collaborate with project teams to build and query complex databases
- Evaluate emerging software, upgrades, and opportunities for development
- Assist in acquiring electronic resources and services
- Configure, test, and adjust software to enhance user interface and experience
- Work with teams to develop custom applications for knowledge discovery
- General library administration duties as needed
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced and multidisciplinary environment
- Have excellent documentation and organization skills
- Work equally well as part of a team and independently
- Have broad experience working with electronic resources and digital media, including building, managing, and querying complex databases (relational and graph-based) and discovery search engines, and automating data-driven processes
- Have expertise in quantitative analysis and data mining in support of design and research activities
- Have experience of web design and HTML including SharePoint 2013 and Digital Asset Management systems
- Background in architecture or other design related experience is beneficial
- 3-5 years’ experience in database development, administration, and/or programming is preferred
- MS in Library and Information Science, Information Systems, or related discipline is preferred
