Position Summary:The joint Libraries at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University, invite applications for the full time position of Library Technology Support Specialist.
The Library Technology Support Specialist is primarily responsible for maintenance of web pages using HTML and XHTML; for processing and loading digital objects to image repository programs; for providing technical support to library departments and archives; and for data collection and analysis related to library operations. The Library Technology Support Specialist may supervise one or more student assistants.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with technical background required; library experience preferred.
Advanced understanding of the following software and coding: Access, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, HTML, XHTML and CSS.
Demonstrated ability to acquire new software and programming skills.
The successful candidate will exhibit excellent interpersonal and communications skills in order to effectively communicate with customers. This position requires a high degree of accuracy with the ability to work with details while handling multiple priorities. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a high level of initiative with the ability to function autonomously. This position will require the ability to work both independently and collaboratively and be able to diagnose problems and propose workable solutions.
