Description
Initial duties will include metadata creation, analysis, and enrichment for scholarly resources in all formats, including textual, image, audio-visual, and digital. Collaborates with the Digital Services Librarian to make FGCU's digital collections, including ETDs, special collections, and archives discoverable on the Web. Works with Head of Technical Services to maintain and improve the data in the library's catalog.Minimum Qualifications: MLS/MLIS degree from an ALA-accredited program or foreign equivalent. Experience with XML-based standards (e.g. Encoded Archival Description (EAD), Dublin Core, MODS, METS, PBCore, etc.). Experience with current standards such as RDA, AACR2, LCSH, MARC21, LC Classification, etc. Experience with integrated library systems and online bibliographic utilities. One (1) year of experience in a metadata production environment.
