Description

The Web Learning Environments Application Developer leads in the design and creates the University Libraries’ new online learning platform and other online learning environments applications working closely with the Online Learning and Education Librarian and the Learning Services unit to develop a vision for the online learning platform and collaborate with others to operationalize that vision.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: Masters or equivalent advanced degree. Demonstrated evidence in coding and creation of websites. Experience conducting usability testing. Experience collaborating with librarians and educators. Knowledge of and experience in instruction. Experience in collaborative, inter-departmental work environments. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge of trends in library services, web based communication, user-centered design, and collaborative technologies. Experience working within a content management system. Experience with Javascript and Javascript-based frameworks such as JQuery to improve user experience. Experience with CSS to separate content delivery in HTML from display in CSS.

Preferred: Strong record of contemporary web practices. Evidence of creativity and innovation. Experience building an online learning platform. Experience teaching. Evidence of entrepreneurial spirit and discovery-oriented outlook. Experience with web-based scripting using for example PHP, Perl, Ruby, or Python. Experience with model/view/controller (MVC) frameworks, for example Ruby on Rails or Django. Experience working with graphic designers to implement designs and layout using HTML and CSS. Software development experience, for example with version control and functional testing.

Salary: $48,000 - $55,000 (Commensurate with credentials and experience)
