Senior UNIX Systems Administrator

Description

The University Libraries at Virginia Tech are seeking a Senior UNIX Systems Administrator.

The position works with users to understand their needs and deploy library-specific IT services. They design, build, update, maintain, and improve the University Libraries’ server-side IT infrastructure: the physical environment including server room and servers, server storage, the server virtualization environment, and server operating systems. In particular, the position will focus on establishing architectural patterns and standards to make administration more effective and more efficient. The position also functions as a database administrator and an application administrator for server-side Library applications.
