Applies principles of information architecture to library websites, systems, and repositories as well as end user-defined projects to organize, filter, and deliver the right information in the right amount to the right user. Determines how the information should be organized in order to retrieve information effectively. Partners with end-users to recommend and implement information management systems. Creates and maintains controlled vocabularies of concepts and their relationships using industry tools and standards. Consults with end users to develop specific controlled vocabularies based on their needs. Consults with end users to develop specific repositories, systems and websites as needed.
We are looking for an individual with a basic understanding in design and code development and a demonstrated ability to be proficient or become proficient with new technologies such as object-oriented programming, MV* frameworks, and the creation and use of RESTful APIs. Proficiency with Java, JavaScript languages, relational and NOSQL databases, and HTML/CSS are required. You must have experience parsing and manipulating structured data in XML, JSON, and other standard formats.

Typical Education/Experience
Level 3 - Bachelor's and typically 6 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level 4 - Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Job related information
A BS/BA in computer science, or the equivalent in education and experience, is desired but not required. Having an MLIS/MSIM or equivalent degree and familiarity with Library and Information Science concepts, practices, and systems is highly desired. Familiarity with MARC, metadata standards, RDF, and semantic technologies is preferred, but not required.
