Description
The University Libraries at Clarion University of PA invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Database Management/Bibliographic Access and Control Librarian. This position is contingent upon availability of funding. Required qualifications include: ALA-accredited MLS; minimum 3 years of professional experience as a practicing cataloger including substantial original cataloging; solid working knowledge of AACR II, RDA, LCSH, LC classification, MARC 21, OCLC, and authority control procedures; experience with automated integrated library systems and database management; evidence of excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively; strong analytical, organizational and computer skills; commitment to quality customer service principles; and successful completion of an interview. A demonstration of the ability to use OCLC, MARC, RDA, and/or LCSH may be required as part of the interview process. Preferred qualifications include: Experience working in an academic library; experience with the Voyager integrated library system; familiarity with mark-up languages (HTML, SGML, XML, etc.); familiarity with Microsoft Access and Z39.50; demonstrated familiarity with evolving metadata standards; demonstrated organization and planning ability; ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment; ability to manage special projects, including selection and maintenance of materials; additional graduate degree(s).Review of applications will begin on October 15, 2013 and continue until the position is filled.
