Our Library is currently looking for an energetic and knowledgeable individual to fill our Systems Librarian Position.

Primary Responsibility: Recommends, analyzes, coordinates, and provides the technical support needed to operate the automation, communication, and on-line systems within the library.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises the daily operation of the Library's automated systems and workstations.
Monitors all system functions, responsible for proper operation, coordinates necessary repairs, and maintains a log of computer-related problems.
Performs the duties of System Admin for the Integrated Library System, supporting the cooperative agreement between Bellevue University and Grace University libraries.
Manages the installation and configuration of new library-related hardware and software.
Works closely with Information Technology (IT) staff to ensure compatibility and to keep the lines of communication open between the library and IT.
Coordinates updates to web page content and design.
Supervises the Electronic Services Specialist position.
Oversees training and instruction of staff on IT and systems operations and evaluates performance.
Assists users on computer equipment, software, public access catalog, and the Internet.
Compiles and interprets statistics and prepares monthly statistical reports.
Keeps current of all new technological procedures, processes, and equipment and attends meetings and training courses as needed to remain current with the changing technology.
Designs, plans, implements, and evaluates the present and future automation needs of the Library, making recommendations for implementation to the Library Director.
Offers technical assistance to the Test Center and Tutor Center as needed.
Works reference duty and conducts bibliographic instruction when necessary.
Participates in library displays and programs on a rotating basis.
Creates flowcharts to streamline current processes.
Contributes to the Library's newsletter "More Than Books" quarterly.
Stays current with the latest trends and developments in the library and information fields.
Qualifications and Skills:
MLS from an ALA accredited school or equivalent.
Two years experience with technology and/or a bachelor's degree in a field consistent with the responsibility of the position preferred.
Experience and knowledge of library technology, Microsoft Office software, Windows, ILS systems (preferably Sirsi-Dynix), html, and the Internet.
Ability to deal with difficult situations while maintaining a businesslike manner.
Should be flexible to accommodate organizational needs.
Maintains positive teamwork atmosphere by communicating in a friendly and effective manner with others.
