The Library is seeking a creative and energetic person to lead its Systems Department. Reporting to the Head Librarian, the Head of Systems manages the Library’s existing systems and technologies, introduces new formats and applications, facilitates staff and member access to information resources, and keeps current on trends and issues in library technology environments. Responsibilities include network management; planning, implementation, training, and troubleshooting library technologies; participation in the management of the Library’s web, social networking, and digitization initiatives; and routine security and hardware maintenance. The Head of Systems supervises a department of two part-time assistants. The successful candidate will have: An ALA-accredited Masters of Library Science and/or a degree in Computer Science Three or more years experience managing a library technology department Experience with Innovative Interfaces ILS and ILS administration Drupal Administrator and general web server experience required; knowledge of Drupal development is a plus Experience with Filemaker database software Demonstrated organizational and communications skills Excellent teamwork and project management skills Experience supervising and evaluating staff This is a full-time position with health and dental benefits, paid time off and a TIAA-CREF plan. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
