User Experience and Assessment Coordinator
Description
The User Experience and Assessment Coordinator will promote user-centered thinking within the organization,
ensuring that the user's perspectives are central to all decision-making processes. In this role, you will be a
data evangelist -- cultivating a dynamic assessment program, communicating data in ways that are impactful
and inspired.
Core Responsibilities
1. Conducts user experience testing and heuristic evaluations of systems, spaces, and experiences;
analyzes user data and recommends areas for improvement.
2. Collects, analyzes, and visualizes library and user data from various sources, including library systems,
vendor statistics, observations, surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
3. Develops, implements, and maintains systems to collect, store, analyze, and communicate
organizational data for internal decision-making and external reporting.
4. Oversees and maintains the data governance framework.
5. Generates analysis and translates insights into reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
6. Provides consultation, training, and documentation to support library staff as they gather, process,
analyze, manage, and report data related to library resources and services.
7. Manages data collection for annual reporting for the Libraries and Museums.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• ALA-accredited Master's degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science.
• One (1) year of experience working with data to assess programs, services, or products; data collection,
manipulation, and analysis; and assessing user needs and behavior or related work experience.
• This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its
infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.
Preferred Qualifications
• Competency with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power Bl, or R. Ability to present
complex information in engaging and easily comprehensible formats, e.g. data
visualization, appropriate use of charts, etc
• Experience with statistical analysis and interpretation
• Skills in and experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, such as
surveys, interviews, or focus groups
• Experience conducting user experience research and testing
• Experience in academic libraries and knowledge of assessment tools in academic libraries
• Displays curiosity and enthusiasm around data analysis and interpretation
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
• Experience leading project teams; ability to work independently and as a member of a
team
