Multicom Entertainment Group is an independent distribution company with a focus on the worldwide television market, digital media platforms, co-productions, publishing, licensing and merchandising. Multicom’s media holdings include thousands of hours of content from our library of shows and movies. The Media Archive and Restoration Manager will be responsible for managing the archive and overseeing HD and 4K restorations for the company.

Responsibilities

  • Manage film archival and restoration staff and facilities
  • Manage the HD/4K restoration process (Pulling, prepping, and scanning materials)
  • Manage receiving, ingestion, and capture of various film and tape assets
  • Oversee day-to-day operations including element identification and inventory, inbound and outbound movement of materials, and proper storage of assets
  • Create policies and procedures for effectively utilizing vault space and resources
  • Monitor vault environment to ensure proper conditions for asset storage 
  • Operate film scanner and various tape format decks to capture film and TV assets
  • Create and maintain inventory reports for acquisitions and operational requests

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Library Science or Archives (or 5 years relevant experience)
  • Experience with film prep (cleaning, repairs, identification, …etc.) 
  • Understanding of HD/4K workflow from film assets
  • Understanding of videotape-based media assets
  • Understanding of inventory data and industry nomenclature
  • Familiarity with inventory tracking systems and processes
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in climbing ladders and handling various media carriers, boxes, and equipment weighing up to 50lbs

 

Additional Desired Skills

  • Previous management experience in a media archive or library
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in handling a variety of audiovisual media
  • Experience with a film scanner and DaVinci software
  • Understanding of feature-film and television show production and post-production processes and the elements those processes produce
  • Skilled in coordinating multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced with 35mm and 16mm film in various formats (Internegative, Print Positive, etc.), including the ability to manage aged or neglected films
  • Strong interest in the history of cinema and media
  • Flexibility to adapt to new technologies and methodologies

 

Compensation

  • Salary range: $70K - $85K / year, based on experience
