The University of Alabama Libraries seeks a Web Developer I to join our team. You will be responsible for building and maintaining websites and applications using a variety of technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress/Omeka. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a talented team in a hybrid work environment (with the possibility of a remote work arrangement).

We're looking for:

  • A Bachelor's degree and some web development experience.
  • Experience with WordPress or Omeka platforms, including theme and plugin development.
  • Strong skills in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP, and relational databases.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities.

Bonus points for:

  • Knowledge of web accessibility, SEO, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js), CSS preprocessors, and agile development.
