The University of Georgia Libraries and GALILEO are excited to announce an opening for a Developer to join our team! We are a small, Agile team building library-focused web applications (primarily in Ruby on Rails) for the entire state of Georgia.

Position Summary
The GALILEO Developer, reporting to the IT Senior Manager of the GALILEO/GIL Technical Support Group, plays a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of web applications and tools that support GALILEO and GIL systems. These systems provide critical digital library services for the state of Georgia. The role focuses on creating secure, accessible, scalable, and user-friendly applications.
As a member of a small and highly collaborative team, this developer will work closely with the Lead GALILEO Developer, contributing to an Agile-inspired, user-centered design environment. Peer code reviews ensure high-quality standards for all projects before deployment to production.
This position also supports the GALILEO Strategic Plan by enhancing the team's ability to incorporate quality assurance (QA) and accessibility practices more effectively into development workflows.
