The NC State University Libraries invites applications and nominations for the position of University Library Specialist, Acquisitions & Discovery. The University Library Specialist contributes to the Libraries’ data and metadata quality, database design and maintenance, and technical workflows in the Data Projects & Partnerships (DPP) unit in the Acquisitions & Discovery (A&D) department. The Specialist ensures the integrity of the Libraries’ discovery and financial systems by providing oversight for the following: advanced-level technical support for the Serials and Monographs Units (reporting and data management); authority control processes; PeopleSoft voucher process, reconciliation of accounts between vendors, the integrated library system (ILS), and PeopleSoft; budget management; and database and troubleshooting support for the department. This position will also facilitate and manage data-related partnerships and projects, providing metadata consulting and technical support for library departments, and occasionally for external parties such as faculty or other campus entities, in collaboration with library departments such as Organizational Strategy and their Library Impact Analysis team. The position will provide facilitation and project management for partnerships and consulting support, including coordinating and communicating timelines, collaborating with multiple stakeholders of varying technical skill levels, and training stakeholders on new tools or workflows as needed.
