Summary Description:
The Associate College Librarian for Technical Services is responsible for oversight of all technical services departments related to Tutt Library, Seay Art and Music Library, and the Creekside offsite storage facility. They lead the development of digital library infrastructure, workflows, policy and services; oversee systems projects to ensure resource accessibility; investigate and implement technology initiatives to support evolving modes of teaching, research, and scholarly communication. They oversee and evaluate librarians and staff; provide vision, leadership, planning, management, strategic direction, implementation, and assessment of responsive digital library systems, applications, technology services, and infrastructure. They generally, implement creative use of technology for technical services operations through the leadership of a dynamic technical services team. The Associate College Librarians are also responsible for all library operations in the absence of the College Librarian.

Anticipated Salary Range: $80,482 to $98,591 per year
Responsibilities:
• General leadership in consultation with the College Librarian and oversight of the work of all technical services librarians and staff, including the direct supervision of the Collections Librarian, Electronic Resources and Serials Librarian, Digital Scholarship Librarian, and the Library Systems Specialist.
• Lead the selection, design, implementation, maintenance, evaluation, and ongoing customization of discovery, repository, and integrated systems, gathering input and feedback to ensure that the systems meet diverse and evolving needs of both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Lead the management and use of Creekside offsite storage facility.
• Build strong collaborative relationships between the library and campus partners.
• Work to create an inclusive environment in Tutt Library that respects, appreciates, and enriches all individuals and groups in our diverse community.
• Contribute to the profession and continue professional education through participation in relevant professional development opportunities, library organizations, and scholarly and creative pursuits.
• Participate in the life of the college through committee and volunteer activities.
• Support and actively contribute to the goal of achieving greater diversity, inclusion and equity at Colorado College and work effectively with all members of the campus.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS or equivalent degree plus a minimum five years library experience and experience managing library systems, including both core integrated library systems and cataloging/metadata experience; proficiency with current cataloging rules and standards and a variety of metadata schema, interoperability and emerging metadata standards; experience with manipulating metadata in batch; ability to evaluate and implement technologies and tools to improve access and streamline workflows; strong organizational skills and ability to accommodate multiple priorities; project management experience; demonstrated problem solving skills; experience with web page development and standards-based web design; experience using programming languages used in client and server side scripting experience supporting an ILS, discovery platform, EZproxy, and/or other core library systems; demonstrated commitment to inclusion and understanding the contributions a diverse workforce brings to the workplace.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supervising staff and providing feedback on performance; experience working with digital preservation platforms; interest in serving the needs of a small, residential undergraduate liberal arts campus and maximizing access to library resources; experience with library cataloging software such as OCLC Connexion and MarcEdit; working knowledge of database systems such as MySQL or Access; experience creating web-accessible databases; experience administering open source ILS software.
