Digital Pedagogy Librarian
Description
Job Purpose:
The Digital Pedagogy Librarian enhances information literacy learning practices and outcomes through discerning use of technology platforms and tools.
Job Duties:
• Maintains library online platforms, tools, and spaces.
• Keeps abreast of and reflects on emerging literacy trends.
• Provides information literacy skill building through carefully crafted classroom instruction, online tutorials, and web guides.
• Ensures both campus and online learners have access to library resources, instruction, and services.
• Provides in-person and online research consultation services to students and faculty, including assistance with locating open educational resources (OER).
• Assesses library instruction activities.
• Collection development and maintenance in assigned areas.
• Serves on faculty and university committees.
Qualifications
• Master’s level degree in library science/ library information science from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated digital fluency and enthusiasm for learning new tools.
• Knowledge of information literacy pedagogical practices that map to the ACRL Framework.
• Ability to leverage technology to enhance user experience and access to library information resources and services.
• Ability to continuously adapt to progressive technological change.
Preferred qualifications:
• Previous work in an academic library setting.
• Previous experience using game-based and/or other immersive experiences to enhance delivery of information literacy instruction.
• Experience using integrated library systems (Alma or other ILS), Springshare’s LibApps products, and discovery tools (Primo or comparable system).
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS.
• Previous project work conducting UX (User Experience) research studies and design.
