Description

Our prestigious museum is actively seeking a Collections Information and DAMS Manager to oversee our expanding collection of over 3,500 artworks. Positioned under the Collections and Exhibitions Planning Director, this crucial role manages the TMS Collections (TMSC), ensuring its integration with our digital asset management system (DAMS) and the online art collections portal (eMuseum).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee TMSC's administration, enhancing its functionality for documenting and sharing our art collection.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between TMSC, DAMS, and eMuseum, facilitating access to collection information across departments.
  • Establish and maintain concise data entry standards, procedures, and policies. Conduct regular audits and coordinate database upgrades, migrations, and digitization projects.
  • Offer advanced TMSC training and support, create custom management reports, and ensure data integrity across all platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Museology, Library Science, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience with museum collections management databases, Gallery System products preferred.
  • Expertise in SQL, Crystal Reports, XML, and HTML; advanced knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data standards, culturally inclusive practices, and vocabularies like AAT, TGN, ULAN, LCNAF, and Wikidata.
  • Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in Spanish considered beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
