Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. Full Time Probationary
Position Overview: The Emerging Technology Librarian shapes the ongoing planning, development, and implementation of technology initiatives in support of the research and teaching mission of the library through collaborative efforts with campus partners. The Emerging Technology Librarian shares in providing in-person and virtual research services as well as promotes, develops, and delivers general and course-specific instruction.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s Degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution
• Proficiency with library related information technology applications
• Demonstrated ability to manage small- and large-scale projects successfully
• Familiarity with academic library research and instruction services
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Evidence of successful collaboration in a team environment
• Familiarity with assessment practices
The Emerging Technology Librarian reports to the Library Director.
Duties and Responsibilities are:
• Identifies and collaborates with relevant campus partners in creating sustainable technology practices
• Develops digitization projects and serves as coordinator of Open Education Resources
• Oversees initiatives focusing on digital accessibility and preservation
• Evaluates print and online resources to develop and maintain relevant collections
• Engages in professional development and continuing education activities
• Serves on library and college committees
• Participate in an evening and weekend schedule rotation
The Salary for this academic year position is $48,981.00.
