The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is seeking a Senior Business System Analyst for our Digital Strategies department. The Senior Business System Analyst works closely with the Digital Product Manager, providing system administration for the business intelligence platform at the Natural History Museum. It is an exciting time as we embark on new journeys of becoming a museum of, for, and with L.A.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Performs job function in a manner that advances the Museum’s mission and strategic goals and is consistent with the organization’s values. Fosters internal collaboration through participation in interdepartmental teams. Assists the Director with coordinating with the Finance Division with respect to ongoing reporting and reconciliation of operating and financial data collected in the ticketing system. Makes adjustments in the ticketing system to balance financial transactions as necessary.
In conjunction with the Director overseeing the Division/Department, develops goals and objectives for the Division/Department in order that the Museum's, Department's and program/function's goals and objectives are achieved. Works with the Directors to ensure divisional/departmental implementation of the strategic plan. Raises issues to the Director overseeing the Department/Division regarding implementation challenges for the Department/Division and its programs/functions in implementing the strategic goals.
Manages POS Support Associate, CRM Admin, and the Junior Ticketing Admin.
System Administrator
Develops procedures for the consistent execution of the program/function. Ensures procedures are written, communicated to all staff affected and stored in an accessible fashion for employees to reference in the future. Informs the Director of any significant changes to operations.
Works with the Museum's internal user group to identify and prioritize reporting needs and develop custom analytics and serves as project manager for external consultant based reporting and analytics services. Documents business requirements and translates these to specifications and design. Reviews and evaluates product modules and upgrades when necessary.
Project Manager/Product Owner
Manages ongoing configuration and monitoring of ticketing system in relation to Museum ticket and event needs, as well as its custom integrations with the Museum's fundraising, financial, business intelligence and customer relationship management software. Maintains ticketing test environment and develops test scripts. Assists with the execution and analysis of test data output. Serves as the primary contact with the ticketing software vendor. Provides project management for ongoing sustainment tasks for system.
Business Intelligence/Analytics
Provides strategic business analysis and research as requested. Evaluates and analyzes current and future museum projects and priorities to shape and craft appropriate solutions to meet desired business results.
This position has the following requirements:
Has proficiency in using web related programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery.
Has experience in using programming languages such as TSQL, SSRS, C#, MySQL, PHP, Python/R, CRM and BI Tools for data analysis.
Proficient in POS configurations and functionalities.
