The UC Curation Center (UC3) is a creative partnership bringing together the expertise and resources of the California Digital Library, the ten University of California campuses, and the broader international curation community. UC3 offers digital curation services to maintain, preserve, and add value to digital research data throughout its lifecycle. Engaging with product and project managers, as well as other developers, the Senior Front-end Web Developer will assume a vital role in collectively shaping the evolution of the DMP Tool, an essential open-source application valued and used by members of the academic research community across the world. Development of the front-end of the application will involve technologies such as React, SASS, HTML5, and Linux in an AWS environment, and the use of Restful API integrations from multiple sources to amplify the platform’s informational depth and capabilities. The incumbent will join a dynamic organization, working both independently and with a small team committed to software development best practices, including Agile, DevOps, and test-driven development. The position offers the opportunity to work on an innovative project that will benefit the research community and contribute to developing internationally adopted open-source software.
This is a full-time, 2-year, grant-funded position with a competitive salary and benefits package. The California Digital Library is a 70+ person unit based in the UC Office of the President downtown Oakland offices. This position is eligible for on-site, remote or hybrid work arrangements within California. We are unable to offer visa transfers or sponsorships.
Salary range is $124,000 – $134,000 commensurate with experience, plus attractive benefits.
