The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is seeking an Information Security Analyst for our Digital Strategies department. The Information Security Analyst works closely with the IT Manager to carry out highly complex and specialized assignments in the area of IT security at the Natural History Museum. It is an exciting time as we embark on new journeys of becoming a museum of, for, and with L.A.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Acts as Project Manager and Lead on information security projects.
Leads or has primary responsibility for the development, implementation, and monitoring of departmental IT security policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.
Participates in the development, implementation, and monitoring of IT security programs in accordance with the organization’s policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.
Participates in the development, implementation, and management of IT security incident response processes and procedures. Assist with the investigation, coordination, resolution, and closure on security incidents as they are escalated or identified. Generates fact-based reports. Documents incident response processes/protocols and updates as needed.
Completes the analysis, design, testing, and implementation of IT security solutions.
Participates in the development, testing, and verification of departmental computer disk images to standardize implementation of security controls.
This position has the following requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer technology and at least four (4) years of of recent, full-time, paid experience assisting with the implementation, management, and monitoring of IT security solutions and programs, or five (5) years of recent, full-time, paid experience assisting with the implementation, management, and monitoring of IT security solutions and programs with CompTIA Security+ or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certifications.
Software troubleshooting experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of applicable practices and laws relating to data privacy and protections.
Well versed in multiple security technologies such as SIEM; Intrusion Detection Systems; Endpoint security; Web Proxy/Content Filtering; Active Directory, PKI, Radius, Log Analysis, etc.
Broad knowledge of business-impacting security scenarios and viable methods to detect these scenarios.

The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is seeking applicants who have demonstrated experience and commitment working with a diverse community. Salary range for this position is $86,316 - $92,813 based on experience plus excellent benefits. This is a full time regular, exempt position.
