Description

Hoover Institution Library & Archives (HILA) seeks candidates who are passionate about cultural heritage imaging and looking for professional growth. The Digital Imaging Manager is responsible for the leadership, vision, and management of HILA’s mass digitization efforts and providing support for all other imaging services requested by the Engagement and Research Services units with the goal to maintain high throughput, reduce turnaround time and provide researchers with rapid access to digitized collection material.

The Digital Imaging Lab at HILA is embarking on exciting changes with opportunities for a new manager to reimagine how to support and grow mass digitization efforts and imaging services.  A recent reorganization brought the Digital Imaging unit into the Preservation department and in 2024, the lab will be relocated into a state-of-the-art digitization space in the newly constructed George P. Shultz Building.  Following on the foundational successes of our Digital First Initiative, the new Digital Imaging Manager will be able to further enhance digitization services and increase output by developing a network of third-party vendors to supplement the existing in-house digitization work of two collection photographers and two imaging specialists.

This position will lead, develop, and execute digital media production assignments requiring advanced level skills from original concept through final implementation with limited oversight. Partner with internal and external clients including senior leaders and faculty regarding digital media projects and services. Serve as an in-house digital media expert for a school/unit with time contribution split between project leadership and as a technical contributor.
